The data controller responsible for the processing of your personal data is:
Almar Conservation by Mariana Alvarez Cañedo, self-employed, Zurich, Switzerland.
For any questions regarding your personal data, please contact us directly by e-mail at the address provided on our website.
We collect and process only the personal data that is necessary for the purpose of organising and delivering your expedition. This includes:
• Contact details: name, e-mail address, phone number, country of residence — to communicate with you and manage your booking.
• Booking information: chosen tour, travel dates, payment records — to fulfil our contractual obligations.
• Health information (if voluntarily provided): relevant medical conditions or dietary requirements — to ensure your safety during the tour. This data is treated with particular care as sensitive personal data.
• Passport and visa details (where required): to facilitate entry to Mexico and comply with legal requirements.
We process your personal data on the following legal bases: (a) to perform the contract with you; (b) to comply with our legal obligations; and (c) on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating our business safely and effectively. Health data is processed only with your explicit consent, which you provide when completing your registration.
We share your personal data only to the extent necessary to deliver our services. This may include local guides, accommodation providers, and transport operators in Mexico. We do not sell your data to third parties. Where data is shared with service providers outside Switzerland, we ensure adequate data protection guarantees are in place (e.g. standard contractual clauses or equivalent measures).
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy and to comply with applicable legal obligations (e.g. Swiss accounting regulations). Booking data is generally retained for 10 years after the end of the contractual relationship, in line with Swiss statutory requirements. Health data is deleted promptly after the tour unless retention is required by law.
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP), you have the right to: access your personal data we hold; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations); object to certain processing; and request data portability.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us by e-mail. We will respond within 30 days.
